2027 Utility Rate Changes

2027 Utility Rate Changes – Effective January 1, 2027
As part of the Town of Arcola's approved three-year utility rate structure, Year 2 rates will take effect January 1, 2027. The changes were implemented gradually to help minimize the impact on residents while ensuring our water and sewer systems remain reliable and financially sustainable.
What's changing in 2027?
Water usage over 3,000 gallons will increase from $7.00 to $7.50 per 1,000 gallons.
The Water Infrastructure Fee will increase from $17.50 to $20.00 per month.
The minimum water rate, sewer charges, sewer infrastructure fee, garbage and recycling rates will remain unchanged.
For a standard two-month utility bill using 6,000 gallons of water or less, the total bill will increase from $206.00 to $211.00, an increase of $5.00 every two months.
These rates help cover the cost of operating and maintaining our water and sewer systems, support future infrastructure needs, and help prepare the Town for upcoming upgrades to our water supply and treatment system.
Residents are encouraged to review the accompanying rate information for a complete breakdown. If you have questions, please contact the Town Office.
